BG’s Positively Speaking
The Importance Of Being Positive
Two types of people populate this world of ours; those who are positive and those who are negative. I don’t know about you, but I prefer to be around positive people. They lift me up and make me feel better; they have a warmer, friendlier disposition that makes me feel glad to be in their company. I have realized over time that there is no middle ground; people are either positive or negative. I have never encountered a person who was a little bit negative or slightly positive. People are either one or the other. Negative people are the way they are because they don’t understand the benefits of being positive. So let’s ask ourselves;
Why is it essential to be Positive?
Life is Tough! We all know that. A positive attitude will help you get back up when life knocks you down, and you can rest assured that it will. Winning in life, and I am not talking about financial rewards (although they are a part of winning), means getting up one more time than you get knocked down. To do that, you NEED a positive attitude. Without a positive outlook, life will eventually put you down and keep you down. An optimistic outlook born out of a positive attitude will give you the willpower to overcome life’s challenges.
Let’s take a look at some of the other benefits of a positive attitude:
POSITIVE PEOPLE are more enthusiastic, have more energy, get more out of life, have more friends, are more influential, go more places, have more fun, laugh more, are happier, and generally live longer. What more do you need to get you to be …..

The world of TV commercials is often regarded with disdain. However, it is also a source of creativity and humour. Over the years, there have been some outstanding commercials that leave an impression on us when we see them. Many of these ads were introduced during the Super Bowl games. Now, thanks to online sharing, we can enjoy many of them again. This week’s video was born from the “Soda Pop Wars” about 35 years ago when the two giants battled to see who could produce the most impressive messages. Two Doilies
There once was a man and a woman who had been married for over 60 years. They talked about everything. They kept no secrets from each other… except that the woman had a shoe box at the top of her closet that she cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about. For all these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day, the woman got very sick, and the doctor said she would never recover. In trying to sort out their affairs, the man took the shoe box to his wife’s bedside. She agreed it was time that he should know what was in the box. When he opened it, he found 2 beautifully crocheted doilies and a stack of money totaling over $25,000. He asked her about the unusual contents. “When we were married,” she said, “my grandmother told me the secret of a happy marriage was never arguing. She told me that if I ever got angry with you, I should keep quiet and crochet a doilies.” The husband was so moved he had to fight back tears. Only two precious doilies were in the box. She had only been angry with him two times in all those years of living and loving. He almost burst with joy and happiness. “Sweetheart,” he said… “that explains the doilies, but what about all this money? Where did it all come from?” Oh,” she said, “that’s the money I made from selling the doilies.”
