Reducing Stress In Your Life
We all feel stress at some point in our life, and stress can be good for us. It propels us to perform at higher levels and helps us achieve our goals. However, stress can also create challenges when we let it get out of control. It can create a feeling of despair and failure. Take control of your life by taking control of stress. Here are some simple steps to help you manage stress.
Strive for Excellence: When we settle for mediocrity, we create an environment where we lose control of our lives, creating more stress.
Think Positive: Positive thoughts give you the power to move forward, to create positive outcomes. Negative thinking always drives you backwards.
Restore Yourself: Have more balance in your life. Some rest and relaxation of both mind and body are essential in handling stress.
Exercise Mind & Body: Eat the right foods, exercise regularly, think the right thoughts, and walk the right paths.
Seek Out: The good things in life. Always look for the good and positive in people and situations.
Survive Stress: You can when you have learned to handle it.
Contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as a “stress-free” life. However, if you master the simple steps outlined above, you will make stress work for you, not against you. As a result, life will be more enjoyable, you will achieve more and, best of all, become more likable.
Think Again!

In Days Of Yore
— Nothing was in place to stop things from falling through a thatched roof into the house. This posed a real problem in the bedroom, where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Beds with big posts at the corners and a sheet fastened to each post afforded some, but not complete, protection from invasion from above.
— The phrase “sleep tight” derives from the fact that early mattresses were filled with straw and held up with rope stretched across the bed frame. Over time the ropes would sag and need to be tightened. As a result, a “tight sleep” was a comfortable sleep.
No One Believes Seniors
An elderly couple was celebrating their sixtieth anniversary. The couple had married as childhood sweethearts and had moved back to their old neighbourhood after they retired. Holding hands, they walked back to their school. It was not locked, so they entered and
found the old desk they’d shared, where Andy had carved “I love you, Sally.” On their way home, a bag of money fell out of an armoured truck, landing at their feet. Sally quickly picked it up and, not sure what to do with it, they took it home. There, she counted the money, fifty thousand dollars! Andy said, “We’ve got to give it back.” Sally said, “Finders – keepers.” She put the money back in the bag and hid it in their attic. Two police officers, canvassing the neighbourhood looking for the money the next day, knocked on their door. “Pardon me, did either of you find a bag that fell out of an armoured car yesterday?” Sally said, “No.” Andy said, “She’s lying. She hid it in the attic.” Sally said, “Don’t believe him. He’s getting senile.” The officers turned to Andy and began to question him. Finally, one said: “Tell us the story from the beginning.” Andy said, “Well when Sally and I were walking home from school yesterday…”
The police officer turned to his partner and said, “We’re outta here!”
