Positively Speaking

The Here and Now

“Patience is a virtue.” We all know this; we have heard that it is so, all our lives. But how many of us are genuinely patient? Many people don’t reach the goals they have set for themselves because they become impatient. They can’t wait for the dream to become a reality. They feel that once they have decided to achieve a goal, they are finished. Nothing could be further from the truth. The decision needs to be followed by action. There are many steps along the path to the successful realization of our goals and dreams. Each step prepares us to meet the challenges along the way, preparing us both physically and mentally to achieve the goal or objective.

We made the decision. The action has begun, now is the time to be consistent and persistent. To keep moving toward the goal, overcoming the obstacles and challenges that will, for sure, appear. Understanding the principle that “The greater the challenge, the more valuable the prize.” During this phase, many will quit, lacking the faith to continue pushing forward, losing sight of the goal. At this time, persistence enters into the picture. It is here that the temptation to quit is the strongest, that the struggle seems to be “just too much.” But the goal is almost realized. The end is in sight, just a bit more action, a little more persistence.

Be Patient…Focus On The Here and Now,
You Are A Winner!

In The Year 2021!

Welcome to 2021! I know we are well past the new year’s start, but this is an unusual year. Do you feel lucky? Maybe you should. The number 21 is connected with luck, risk, taking chances and rolling the dice. It’s the recognized “coming of age” in many cultures. The number of spots on a standard dice. The number of shillings in a “guinea,” the currency of wagers and horse racing. It’s also the alternate name for blackjack, a game synonymous with gambling. All of which seems strangely appropriate for a year of uncertainty. The most significant gamble, and the biggest prize offered by the year 2021, is the chance to bring the corona-virus under control. As we approach the end of March, it appears that with a “little bit ‘O’ luck,” that big gamble is about to pay off.
