Circles
I venture that most people give little thought to circles, but perhaps we should all think more about their influence and significance in our lives.
Circles are much more than geometric shapes that don’t have to be perfectly round to be called circular. They can be oval or uneven with bumps and blemishes. In fact, they can be pretty flexible. Yet, we go through life not realizing how important they are to the structure in which we conduct our daily living. Circles can stand alone, be concentric, interlocking, side by side, or one on top of the other.
Almost everything in life is built and organized by circles or rings. We have family circles, friendship circles, church circles, work and professional circles, political circles, artistic circles, community circles. The fabric of our lives is wrapped around them, and rings are the physical symbols of strength, unity and common purpose.
The planet we live on is circular, more or less; its rotation is circular, more or less. We traverse the earth in a circle. Think about it, next time you walk along the street, you will actually be walking in a circle, even though it appears flat.
Survival dictates that each of us is a member of multiple circles. Those circles are interlocked with other circles that are, in turn, linked with others. As a result, the population of our planet becomes connected by those circles. Each of us has a duty and obligation to contribute to the health and well-being of our circles. It is only by our collective co-operation that we can thrive. Many years ago, Alexandre Dumas, in his book “The Three Musketeers,” coined the phrase, ‘All For One and One For All.’ Maybe he was thinking about the circles of life? Just remember one thing …..
We Are All Just Going Around In Circles!
You Know It’s Your Last Day At Work When……”
You hand a bank teller an envelope, and when she asks, “What’s this?” you realize you just dropped the company’s deposit in a mailbox.
While your boss is at lunch, you sneak in and look at confidential information on his computer. Then, you spill coffee on the keyboard. It shorts out.
You return from a week’s vacation to find that you had scheduled *this* week as vacation, not last week.
Dieting is a Weigh of Life
- It’s not the minutes spent at the table that put on weight; it’s the seconds.
- The biggest drawback to fasting for seven days is that it makes one weak
- The most challenging part of a diet isn’t watching what you eat. It’s watching what other people eat.
- An excellent way to lose weight is by skipping … snacks and dessert.
The Irish Way
The American tourist in Dublin was complaining a great deal about the food. “Here,” he said to the waitress, holding out a piece of meat for inspection, “do you call that pig?”
“Which end of the fork, sir?” the waitress asked sweetly.

Us: From The Inside Out
The human body is built around a frame (skeleton) containing 206 bones. Half of these are tiny and provide support to hands and feet. The frame is linked together by 60,000 miles of blood vessels, some no bigger than a human hair. This framework is covered with skin.
The average human has approx. 3,500 square inches of skin. The skin contains about one billion pores and functions as protection for the marvel of engineering that it covers. The skin acts as a barrier to disease organisms and protects your body from the harmful effects of the sun’s rays. Through its pores, it also helps regulate your temperature. It is also vital in keeping blood, nerves, tissues and fluids in precisely the right places.
From inside to outside, we are a great masterpiece of engineered design. A place for everything and everything in place.

On vacation
A woman goes away on vacation and has her brother watch her cat. On the second day, when she calls her brother to see how things are going, he tells her that the cat is dead.
The woman immediately goes into hysterics, really upset and says, “You can’t tell a person bad news like that. You should have said that Fluffy was stuck on the roof and couldn’t get down the first day. You could have said that she had fallen on the second day, but the vet said she would be OK. Then, on the third day, you could have said that she died from complications.” The next day the brother calls the woman up and says, “I have news.” “What?” “Grandma is stuck on the roof and can’t get down ….”
