The Secret To Success

We would all like to be successful. Though success is defined differently by each of us, we all want to achieve our own goals. We will attain varying degrees of success; some will have great success, others not so much.

When the conversation turns to be about successful people, we tend to ask one question more than any other, namely, “I wonder what his/her secret is?”

There is a secret that is not really a secret. It is open for everyone to see. The secret to success is in having a dream. The bigger the vision, the better. Period, full-stop, that’s it in a nutshell.  The problem is that we get so wrapped up in what we are doing that we forget the reason “Why” we are doing it. The reason “why” is the secret to our success or the lack of it. Here is what a dream can do for you if you let it.

A Dream has the power to lift you up when the world is putting you down.

A Dream will fill your life with energy and passion. It will sharpen your focus.

A Dream will shield you from criticism and negative thinking.

A Dream will renew your strength and purpose.

A Dream will open doors for you that you didn’t know we’re there to be opened.

No matter what area of life you want to be successful in, a dream is key to unlocking the success within you. You can achieve great things with a dream, a BIG dream.

Perfect Timing

Mother was teaching her young daughter how to cook a roast. “How do you judge the time it takes for the roast to cook?  Do you use an electronic timer?” asked the daughter. “That’s very simple.” replied mother, “I cut a small piece off the roast. Then, I put it in with the big piece, and when it’s burnt, the big piece is ready to take out.”

It is said that the muscles of the face are capable of over 250,000 different combinations of expressions. And one of the most useful is a smile. Fulton J. Sheen used to say, “A smile across the aisle of a bus in the morning could save a suicide later in the day.” The statement is true. We all need the healing medicine “of the heart.” that a smile, even from strangers, provides. And for some, that medicine can save lives. English essayist Joseph Addison put it this way: “What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity.” Don’t say you can’t make a difference! Don’t ever say you have nothing to give! Each of us can provide a smile spontaneously and sincerely. Its value may not be at once recognized but be assured that it will be felt.

At The Wake

One of the mourners at Paddy’s wake remarked to the widow that he looked so happy. The widow agreed and went on to explain, “Yes, he died in his sleep and doesn’t know yet that he’s dead. In fact,” she went on to say, “if he wakes up in the morning, the shock will kill him.”
